This year
it has snowed very little in the Apennines. I decided on Sunday to do a short
hike in the snow before it disappears entirely.

From Passo
Pradarena I decided to climb Monte Asinara instead of the usual Cavalbianco. I
climbed from the south side of the mountain where the sun and the warmer air
coming in from Tuscany had left just a thin layer of snow. It was quite easy
and in less than an hour I was atop Monte Asinara.

I was rewarded with a splendid view eastwards towards Monte Cusna. As often is the case a band of cloud had formed above the mountain chain. So, I had to be patient and wait to get some interesting light for my photography.

All that remained was to put the Alfa in "sport mode" for the decent down to Ligonchio.
