Monte Valestra

It is finally starting to get hot here, so it was not the best day to climb 200M up Monte Valestra . was it worthwhile?

Valestra forms part of a line of hills above Carpineti  and like the other hills  it has some spectacular views of the Apennines and some curious rock formations.  The  southern face  rises 200m vertically above the surrounding countryside.

This mountain was colonised by the Liguri, a population who gave the Romans lots of problems. And is well known as an archaeological site.
