Badgers

Whilst out for a walk to the waterfalls and ruined mill at Mulino del Diavolo (Devils mill) near Cerredolo dei Coppi I came across these badgers who were seemingly oblivious to my presence. When they had finished eating they came up to me within a meters distance and growled before running off.

A last minute decision to take the 80-200 instead of just the 17-55 that I usually carry alone let me take these pictures at F2.8 in the low light of  the forest.

Nostalgia

During the rainy Christmas holidays I dug out some photos I took in London over 20 years ago and made some scans.

I also did a Blurb book - a nice way to archive old groups of photos.

Autumn in the Apennines

Photos from the last two walks I did in September - October before winter set in. I managed to be there just in time to see the autumn colours.

29th September - "Passo Pradarena" to "Passo La Forcerella".
The red colour is due to the leaves of blueberry plants.

 Photos: towards Passo La Forcerella.

Monte Prada (2054m) looking east.
15th October: "Passo delle Forbici" to "Passo La Forcerella".
I went along the "Crinale" climbing M.Prada before descending down to a lower path to take me back to where I started.
After a nice morning the weather changed and I did the last half hour under frozen rain.
The gathering storm made for some good photos.
The cramps I got in my legs as I hurried back were less good !
